Saturday the family came over for pumpkin carving and dinner. We played charades, caught up on current events, and had a great time.
The pictures above pretty much say it all!

 The Monster Dash
Tonight was a run at Spero Kereiakes Park at seven p.m. The track was ready for the runners and the trick or treaters too. Kevin and I are taking the boys along the trail to pick up candy while David is at the finish line taking pictures of Jennifer. The pictures you are looking at were done at night with poor lighting. Please excuse, its late and I am bushed .

Halloween Clip Art

Bring on the Jack-o-lantern

Whether you're five or fifty, there's something magical about a flickering jack-o-lantern that makes your heart race a bit. No, it's not just for the kids! It's Halloween, and almost every door step has a spooky, glowing face peeking out through a carved pumpkin.
Halloween was started back in the 19th century. This holiday was celebrated to worship and honor the dead. David and I are celebrating with our friends who got married 40 years ago on Halloween night. We will probably have a wonderful meal at Longhorn Steak House. Followed by a trip through the cemetery for good measure.
Boo!

Too many bees hanging out on the hives
I would love to have a few acres of this cotton (When those cotton balls get rotten you can pick very much cotton) The price is sky high for cotton. These fields were just beautiful and snowy white for the picking.
What's The Buzz On Bees?

I went out this morning to hang my wash outside and noticed scads of bees in the backyard. Now what? I venture to look at my hives and they are bearded at the entrance. Our bee meeting is Tuesday so I guess I will ask the old times what the problem is. So, I am going back and forth hanging wash out and leave my laundry basket outside and come to find out there are bunches of bees on the laundry basket. What an exhausting year for me regarding my bees. I hope I get some answers at the bee meeting tomorrow.

Barefoot By The Seaside Town Of Destin

Were back from our great time in Destin Florida this past week. Situated along eight miles of untouched white sand beaches within the Gulf Islands. From the moment you arrive until you start your journey home, you are in one of nature's last unspoiled playgrounds.
We decided to book our stay in October this year. It was pretty much dessert ed, and you have your choice of where you want to go and no waiting. It was a wonderful relaxing vacation.

Dreams In The Making

"Here comes that dreamer!' they said to each other" (Genesis, 37:19
In Scripture, Joseph was a dreamer. His dreams were so real that he just had to tell others about them. Not everyone was as excited about Joseph's dreams as he was, but that didn't keep him from dreaming. It didn't keep him from believing what was in his heart. When opposition came, when his family turned their back on him, when he was falsely accused and thrown in prision, he kept on dreaming. His life didn't take the route he had expected, but God was working behind the scenes realigning his steps until those dreams in his heart became reality.
As you stay in faith, just like Joseph, God will take you from the pit to the palace. He'll order your steps and fulfill those dreams and desires He has placed within you!
Have a blessed weekend.

Blogging Is Like Going To The Gym... For Your Brain
If you're a blogger, your best ideas probably hit you when you're not actively looking for them. Rather, they strike when you're engaged in another task, or sometimes quite randomly.
What happens to me in many cases is my best ideas strike while in the shower, driving my car, or at the gym. Anyway while working out the other day, it struck me how going to the gym is highly analogous to blogging. The analogy is as simple as: going to the gym is good for your body, as blogging is good for your brain.
Most people only go to the gym a few times before giving up. Most people only put down a few blog entries before giving up. Both blogging and going to the gym are large commitments. Blogging keeps your mind sharp, improves your writing , and brings you closer to people.
Just like you can tell people the benefits of working out yet they'll never make it to the gym a day in their life.

The Mystic Appeal Of The Intoxicating Fragrances
I can remember as a teenager my mother and I would get on the bus and go shopping in downtown Cincinnati. Invariably we stopped at the perfume counter at Shillito's. Mom would put a dab behind her ear and say, Susan smell this. Well, I don't know mom, try this one. And on and on it went. By the time we were ready to board the bus, either one of us could stand the smell of the other. It was embarrassing and sickening too. I said that to say this.
There are many intoxicating brand of perfumes that are difficult to resist, and will surely work their magic on you and make you their slave. There is always something about a good perfume brand that drives most people absolutely insane. Just think of the number of times you have stopped in your tracks when you caught a whiff of the great smelling perfume.
Quality perfumes work in their own way enticing a person with its sweet smelling fragrances whether it's floral or citrus. While selecting a perfume you should always decide on your budget as it is very importand to decide on the price range and then search for the most affordable and quality perfume that you desire. The next thing comes in selecting the perfume that suits your personality and style.
Before buying the perfumes, you need to test it on a tester paper(that's the key) and smell it, this will help you to understand what the fragrance will smell like after a while.
In conclusion, smelling good and using perfumes is the one desire that make us all feel a little special.

What Do I Have?

We had lunch Sunday with friends of ours. Phyllis said, this is for you Susan. I immediately opened the gift up to find a beautiful plate. A bee and flower honey plate. I was thrilled to say the least. Phyllis is so thoughful.
I come home, looked on the back of the plate and come to find out I have a Paul Cardew ceramic piece. He is from England and his work was first shown in the USA in 1992 at The New York Gift Show.
I found a shop in Paducah, KY. that carrys his design. Can't wait to go shopping. There is a whole line of these pieces. What am I going to get into now?
