First of all, let's make one thing perfectly clear. The health of our children and grandchildren is at risk. Toxic vaccination programs; GMO laced, processed food; too much television time; modern day radiation exposure from cell phones and a poor education system. Shame on us! We, as caregivers must put an end to this madness for the sake of our children and future generations. Learn everything you can about the dangers of vaccines, childhood obesity and many other common childhood health problems.

Cartoon Refrigerator with Ice in the Freezer Section
Freezer Camp

I will be sending Benjamin to freezer camp if he doesn't shape up. He followed me out of the gate yesterday and caught him in time for him to hit his head on the door. I wish I could relay to you how much I really like my chickens. I am disappointed with Broad Rooster. He wound up in the oven. Benjamin is trying my patience. I read that you should grab the rooster by his feet and turn him upside down when he gets aggressive. I don't think so. How is this going to work?
Not to change the subject but most of us would agree that life is a busy endeavor, which can lead to lots of stress. The busier we get, the more stress we have to deal with. Fortunately, there is a medicine free way in which you can reduce a significant portion of that stress. Grab a couple handfuls of almonds daily. Another way is fish. There's no fish like oily fish. Fish like salmon, which is rich in omega 3 fatty acids, and is the perfect destresser option. Oh, yes chocolate. Who can resist a litttle chocolate? It can reduce our stress levels. From chocote to spinach. Well, Popeye knew a little something about nutrition after all. Spinach and other dark leafy greens help soothe stressed out nerves. Happy Hump Day!

We'll Come Running!
No matter where you have been all day,
To your feet we will run to play.
Like a loyal dog to some,
When I call, my chickens come.
Beaks and toes with mud galore,
Chickens dig forever more.
And when it's time to say goodnight,
Into their coop without a fight.
Sleep my chickens cozy and warm,
Feathered and happy, they sleep till dawn.

Jeep Wrangler YJ
We have been fixing up our Jeep Wrangler for when David retires. We had the top painted and  had the cover replaced. It is much quieter now with the new cover. We are excited about our Jeep taking us places, as it will replace the company truck. We are going to be regular Dukes of Hazzard. Should we dare name ours the General Lee. Maybe not!

Brisk Morning Walk Reduces Food Attraction

Good news for morning exercisers. A small study found that women who took a brisk 45 minute morning walk were less attracted to food. Even better news is that they didn't eat any more calories on the morning exercise day, and were more active the rest of the day than on the days they didn't exercise. I have noticed this in my routine. The days I go to the gym I don't eat near as much, and really not as hungry. My garden is just about finished, except for my lima beans which are still coming on. I plan to start going to the gym 3 times a week. I need to get back to my schedule. Winter is on its way!

This is it, folks: the final chapter of America's great financil blowout has begun. The Federal Reserve's decision to annouce infinite quantitative easing has now put us all on the path of infinite money creation. With up to $85 billion in monthly money creation, including $40 billion a month in purchases of mortgage backed securities, the Fed is now wholly commited to the creation of new fake mony to cover old fake debts. Mathematically, this financial death spiral can only end in sheer catastrophe.
This massive money creation tactic is the Fed's last plan to desperately try to save the economy and the only thing we have left is massively creating new money out of thin air, which has not worked before, and is not going to work this time.

What's Going On

A broody hen is a hen who has decided it is time to sit on the nest and hatch a few eggs. Hens try to lay in the same nest each day to accumulate a stockpile of eggs. I have 35 in this nest. When the stockpile is sufficient for her needs, a hen will settle over the eggs with intentions of hatching the eggs. It takes 21 days and a delicate balance of heat and humidity to hatch a chicken egg. Well with that backround, I went into the chicken coop yesterday and noticed Rabecca was not on the nest and the eggs were cold. I went back 2 hours later and she was still off. I gathered the eggs and disposed of them. How sad! I was so looking forward to baby chicks, and I know she was looking forward to being a mother. I e-mailed McMurray Hatchery and they said: It's hard to know why your hen decided not to set on her eggs anymore. Sometimes it's difficult to second guess "mother nature". So I guess we will have to wait till spring. Fall is coming on, and there won't be enough light to produce baby chicks. Next time I am going to mark the eggs with x's and not have so many in the nest. Also I am going to candle them to see which ones are fertilized. Such goes life in the chicken yard.

Benefits Of A Positive Day
The only one thing that you need is to live in the present so that you can realize what's going on at each moment: situations that are favorable to you, things you receive or enjoy, all types of circumstances that give you a chance to be thankful. The best tool to live in the present and gain focus is your breath. By focusing on your breath (inhale, exhale) your awareness of the moment your living increases.
Lets talk about how to get inner peace. Decide to live within your means. Realize the difference between your wants and needs. Resolve to do your best, period, and let the rest take care of itself. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, ask God to put into your mind exactly what you need to hear in this moment.

Foreman The Weeder

Forman has been giving me help in my flower beds.. He gets free feed like bugs and grass etc. Plus he scratches and removes all the unwanted weeds. He has become a pet. He breaks out of the chicken yard at around 6am and proceeds to return at dusk.

How do you like my find at Lowes? I paid 1.50 for this flag. Yes I am serious! It was on the clearance rack. Just in time for fall and pumpkin season.

We had our monthly dinner with our 4 favorite couples at Chuys newly opened restaurant. There chips are fantastic, and a cool funky decor.

Beautiful girl face -How To Not Look Tired Even If You Are

It's no secret that you will have trouble sleeping as you get older. What? Not me. When my head hits the pillow I am out like a light. I guess it is because I have such active days. I am busy from morning to night. With chickens, bees, house, yard, garden, grandchildren, projects, pasttimes, etc. etc. And there's nothing like a full plate to take a toll on your appearance. Forage in your fridge. Place a slice of potato or cucumber on your closed eyes for as many minutes as you can spare.  You will be surprised with the results!

An indigenous vegetable native to North America, pumpkins not only play a roll as jack o lanterns on Halloween and fillings for Thanksgiving pies, they also provide a wide range of healthy benefits, making them a perfect food to incorporate into your daily diet. We have been having pumpkin every week. I bake a pie without the crust and serve it in a wedge along with our other vegetables, and it is delicious. Pumpkin is loaded with fiber, antoxidants, vitamins, minerals and is low in calories. Pumpkin seeds have a nutty flavor. Quite tasty I might add. Add pumpkin to your plate on a weekly basis. It's not just for Halloween.

McNeil had their Grandparents Day Thursday. So I went to have lunch with Landen and Alex and Landen made this in class for me. It is up on the frig. for safe keeping and all to see.
Look at all those eggs. Surely they won't all hatch! Ten more days, and we will hear little peeps. I am so excited. I will have to buy a cage for the mama and baby chicks so the others don't bother them. Life can be so cruel.
Landen spent the weekend with us. Here are the boys(grandpa and landen) goofing off while watching one of their favorite programs. Happy Monday to all!

Cleanse your Body So You Can Cleanse Your Mind
This does not necessarily have to mean subjecting yourself weeks of rigorous bowel cleansing and liver detoxifying. Breathing usually is not something we think about since it comes so naturally. But a majority of people really don't breathe correctly, especially in our fast paced world. By taking in more oxygen, tissues are effectively detoxified, the mind is clarified and the nervous system is calmed. Leading to positive, emotional states.
Hydrate! Drinking water seems like such a basic action, yet dehydration is common. It is particularly important to drink plenty of water first thing in the morning as toxins have accumulated during the night. Adding the juice of half a lemon is even better as it helps support the liver.
Brush! Dry skin brushing is another economical and easy way to detoxify. The feet are a good place to start. Brush the legs, arms, back and abdomen. It takes only 5 to 10 minutes to brush the entire body. Make sure to enjoy a hot shower afterwards.

2012 September Calendar

September Is National Yoga Month

As you know yoga is one of my favorite past times. One of yoga's benefits is learning to control your breathing. Working on yoga poses will increase your strength, flexibility and balance. Chronic health problems may be eased. Excess weight may be brought under control by regular practice of yoga. Yoga is the sixth most common practice used by Americans. According to Yogahealthfoundation.org. science has been discovering that stress is significantly related to health conditions of all kinds. Yoga has been seen to be a useful discipline for reducing stress. An overcharged nervous system can be slowed and relaxed with yoga poses and meditation, often within a matter of minutes.

A Find At Garden Ridge

I found an awesome deal at Garden Ridge Store in Louisville KY. You can save a lot of money with an item that is 75% off like the one above. Don't you just love it? They have everything from soup to nuts. Jennifer said: mom, I wish we had a store like this in BG. Well I am glad we don't, I would be money poor from all the things that I have to have. Right!

Well she is still setting. Fifteen more days to go. Right around day 21, I should hear the little peeps of baby chicks. Exciting! They tend to stay under mama for one to two days. And remember, some will hatch and then the rest may hatch over the next two to four days. You can go ahead and try to remove any remaining eggs from under the broody hen- if you dare.

Dinner that evening at Sharon's

Lunch at Lu-Lu's

Beside all this we went to World Market, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and  multiple other stops. Needless to say it was an expensive trip, but a fun one!
