Fever, Cough, Headache, Fatigue, Vomiting
Add to that list laryngitis. I am soaking in pure luxury. My daughter let me use some of her bath salts and body ache reliever. The flu has caught us. The whole family. Lock, stock and barrel. Here is an interesting statistic. During a regular flu season, about 90 percent of deaths occur in people 65 years and older.
Isn't that exciting to know?

For now, let me just state that what people are suggesting is the exact opposite of what the Bible teaches. Trusting God is not about sitting back and doing nothing. In the Scriptures, we are told that faith is about stepping out and taking action on what God has revealed to us. That includes working hard, being wise and providing for our families. For example, just check out Proverbs 6:6-11...

Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise. Which, having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.

How long will you sleep, O sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep -- so will your poverty come upon you like a stalker, and your need as an armed man.

In the end, each one of us needs to make the decisions that we feel are best for our own families.

Peace On Earth, Good Will To All People
If only saying it were enough. If only we could say a prayer, or wave a magic wand and peace would descend among all people. Wouldn't that really be the very best Christmas present anyone could have?
This beautiful poinsettia was given to me by my daughter. isn't it a beauty! Thanks Jennifer.

A Dressed Up Chicken Coop
Christmas is about so many things to so many people: the birth of Christ, carols, presents, good deeds, lights, trees, the fat man in the red suit. My mom would make coffee tins of cookies. Starting weeks before Christmas. Miniature pecan pies and wedding cookies. The house smelled wonderful with the aromas of vanilla and cookie dough. As a kid, I was absolutely certain I was taking my own life into my hands every time I would eat raw cookie dough. My mom did a very thorough job of scaring me silly about the life-threatening dangers of raw eggs. Sad to say, it didn't stop me from pinching off bits of dough when she wasn't looking. However, as I have learned more about food production and fresh foods, my fear of raw eggs has decreased significantly. Especially if said eggs come from healthy pastured chickens like the ones I raise. As a matter of fact, I have several of my customers who eat my eggs raw. I am not there yet! How about you?

I just Love this! Don't you?Dont care

I am home, but not for long. I am leaving again for Cincinnati Monday, so I am posting a piece from my bees, to all of you who are interested in keeping, or following the adventures and life of the bee.

While each colony of bees is almost at their lowest head count, with all the boys kicked out and the girls focused on protecting the queen through the coldest months. They are still attracting loads of attention as the general public are becoming more aware of their plight. Fortunately, as we keep our bees in an urban environment, they don't face the challenges of mono-crop agriculture and doses of pesticides. More and more people are becoming fascinated by these tiny creatures. And they are to be watched!
