What's on The Radar and Breathtaking
The sun, so I am told will return later in the week. That sunshine will lead to warmer temperatures at the 70 degree mark. It will really begin to feel more like spring. Time to dust myself off and clean house.
John 19:25-37
In this story we see the breathlessness of stress become a breath-taking surprise. This host felt the stress of every host only his worst fear came true. The wine ran out. Breathing tends to constrict in such moments. Fear, shame and embarrassment take one's breath away. Something happens here reversing the course of things. We marvel at the miracle of water into wine. Do we notice a similar transformation at work in the host? The miracle of stress into surprise? Identify your stressors and make them explicitly known to Jesus. Ask Him to "do something" and be prepared to "do whatever he tells you to". This one happened at the non-descript wedding of ordinary people. Who knows, it could happen for you? YES you. He turns anxiety into amazement.
Also, note the miraculous foretelling going on in the dialogue. See the allusion to the biggest miracle of all? Best wine saved for last.
