My Bee's Are On The Porch
There is a saying among beekeepers that in the early evening your bees are out on the hive fanning themselves to cool. Just like we do, when we get hot, we go to the porch and try to cool off. I have been trying to figure out a way to keep track of my three hives. You wouldn't believe how much there is to do. Checking each hive, knowing when to put a super on, what dates the hives were inspected and so on. So I searched the internet and found my source. HiveTrack.com. Hive Tracks addressed the problem of maintaining useful beekeeping records, which is a never ending struggle for beekeepers. Record keeping is an important aspect of effectively managing honeybee colonies, but most beekeepers agree there is always room for improvement.
As you can see from the picture above my beans are coming up. I am getting a late start, but better late than never. David will be tilling up the remainder of the garden this evening so I can get in the rest of my crops. I am super excited and ready to pick, break and can. What a fulfilling time of year. It is all coming together just as I knew it would.
