Pork: Did Leviticus 11:7 Have It Right?

I read a lot, like a lot of you do, and somethings I store for future reference, eliminate, or say hey I agree with this information. Leviticus labels the pig an unclean animal. Regardless of your spiritual beliefs, there may be good reason to carefully consider your decision to include pork as part of your diet, despite advertising campaigns trying to paint pork as a healthy aternative to beef, research suggests it may be hazardous to your health on multiple levels.
So while pork is arguably good meat from a biochemical perspective, I believe there is reservations in many cultures against consuming it. Pigs appetite for less than wholesome foods makes pigs infectious. We celebrate Thanksgiving with a country ham. I am not giving that up, but that's as far as it goes with me. I will crunch on my nuts and eat my veggies.
